What Is Invisalign and What are the Aligners Made From?
Invisalign is a complete alignment system that is used to treat misaligned teeth and several other issues. It was designed to replace traditional metal braces and provide a comfortable, discreet corrective experience for patients.
Invisalign comes with clear aligners that are made from customized thermoplastic material and resemble a tooth whitening tray. Each aligner is fitted to your teeth and adjusted as the treatment progresses. The plastic used to make Invisalign clear braces is perfectly safe to use in your mouth and it fits comfortably on your teeth.
How Does the Process Work?
Every 2-3 weeks, a new aligner will be placed in your mouth which will be designed and prepared for your teeth based on the predicted outcome. As your teeth start to move to the desired location, new aligners will be fitted and placed on your teeth to continue the momentum and ensure progress is made. Each aligner is designed to move teeth into a particular position and then the next aligner continues the process until the desired result is achieved.
How Long Does it Take for Invisalign to Straighten Teeth?
The entire process can be completed in less than two years – faster for some clients depending on the issues to be corrected. Results can vary based on the patient's oral health, tooth alignment, crowded teeth or the size of gaps between teeth. "They Were a Breath of Fresh Air"Today my 16 year old son had his tooth knocked out in gym during flag football, the nurse called and told me they recovered the tooth and had it in milk and I needed to get him to the dentist ASAP. We contacted his dentist and was told that they did not have any emergency appts available, they offered no solutions and really didn't seem to care.
