Candidacy depends on case complexity. Healthy gums and no untreated cavities are generally required before treatment begins, and a consultation and examination are the only way to confirm whether Invisalign is the right fit for your situation. If your oral health needs attention first, we can address that here before moving forward with aligner treatment.
What to Expect During Invisalign Treatment
The process starts with a consultation and examination. From there, we use digital impressions to build a precise, custom treatment plan. You’ll see a projected outcome before any aligners are made.
You’ll receive a series of aligner trays, each worn for approximately one to two weeks before advancing to the next set. Aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day and removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, and flossing. Check-in appointments are typically scheduled every six to eight weeks so we can monitor your progress.
Many patients complete treatment within 12 to 18 months, though timelines vary based on case complexity. After treatment, a retainer is required to hold your teeth in their new position.

She obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2008, after obtaining her Bachelors of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from The Cooper Union in NYC. She then completed her General Practice Residency at Staten Island University Hospital in 2009.
