Nitrous oxide is a mild sedative agent that safely and effectively manages pain and anxiety during a dental procedure. Contrary to its name, laughing gas does not necessarily make you laugh. Rather, nitrous oxide makes you feel less inhibited by slowing down your nervous system.

Nitrous oxide should not be used on patients who are currently in the first trimester of pregnancy, with a history of mental health conditions, with a history of substance abuse, with a history of respiratory illnesses, with a vitamin B-12 deficiency, and with methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase deficiency (an enzyme condition).

"They Were a Breath of Fresh Air"Today my 16 year old son had his tooth knocked out in gym during flag football, the nurse called and told me they recovered the tooth and had it in milk and I needed to get him to the dentist ASAP. We contacted his dentist and was told that they did not have any emergency appts available, they offered no solutions and really didn't seem to care. I encountered the same attitude with several other offices that I called and I finally called Aesthetic. They were a breath of fresh air, their computers were down and couldn't even check their appts but asked me what was going on, spoke with the doctor and told me to come on over.
